I know the economy is garbage everywhere, but I figured I should ask anyway.

The most important thing right now is having experience. I’ve heard, in sac especially, that a lot of younger people applying for jobs that they would normally get are being beat by older, more experienced people who need the money. Employers choose experience over anything else, especially in this economy where they need the bang for their buck. So to answer your question, yes, it is more difficult than normal to get a job, but not impossible.

Letsee. I have been actively seeking employment since fall quarter (october 2008) and have yet to find a job. I’ve had a string of interviews but yes, it’s been tough trying to land a job where like the one above me said that older people are grabbing jobs. Its especially hard in davis since there isnt many opportunities (theres always campus jobs) but more in sac also with more competition
