<p>I took IIC in May and received a rather disappointing score, then I took it again in October and scored a 760. I’d really like to get an 800 on it, but how would colleges, especially, the UCs feel if I took it for the third time in December?</p>
<p>UC’s say that they will rely on only the highest score from those multiple tests. But why you might believe 760 does not get the job done is beyond me.</p>

<p>I would like to take IIC again because though 760 may seem like a good score, the IIC test is graded on a very generous curve and a 760 only puts me in the 78th percentile. On the other hand, I am also concerned that even if I take the IIC again in December and scored an 800, that score would be devalued as it would be my third time taking it. However, I have also heard that UCs double SAT II scores when evaluating applications, so I’m really unsure about this.</p>
<p>I wouldn’t do it unless you’re certain to get an 800 (and maybe if something bad happened last time). I think a 760 should be fine. 78th percentile is well above average.</p>
<p>i don’t think colleges rely THAT much on the percentile. they realize that 40 points is not that big of a difference (only a few questions. besides, an 800 on chinese is 58th percentile, and i don’t think it’s regarded as downright bad</p>
<p>Sit on your 760. Taking it again to raise it to an 800 is unlikely to be worth the time and effort that you will put into it. Instead, take 2 or 3 new SAT IIs.</p>
