I’m considering UC Davis as one of my choices for law school and I was just wondering what the undergrads at Davis felt about it. I mean, whether or not you have much knowledge in the legal field, if you met a Davis law student while you were grabbing your daily morning coffee, would you think: “Wow, this guy goes to Davis law school? This dude must be dumb and a reject from real schools” or something along the lines of “Oh that’s cool. Davis has a good law school. He’ll do well here” or even “…Davis has a law school? o.O”

Just wondering because from a legal perspective, UC Davis is comparable to UC Hastings, and both are generally respected in the Northern California area.

i think you’ll be waiting a looooong time for any responses (other than this one) on this thread. it’s marginally offensive, and why would u bother asking UNDERGRADS what their opinion of the LAW SCHOOL is??? why not direct this ‘question’ to current ucd law students? i’m sure there’s a forum for that somewhere…

UC Davis Law is ranked considerably high, but not enough to secure a job in this type of economy.
If i had to choose between Hastings and UC Davis, i would choose Hastings even if it has a lower rank because of its wide alumni network and clout in SF.

Actually I had the opportunity to talk to a grad student here, and he said he picked UCD over hastings. He said the thing he enjoyed the most about law here is that it is very close. He knows all his professors names and other grad students, and they know him by name as well. It forms a really nice community, and he said everyone who is a grad student has their own key to the law building, so he can go in whenever he wants to do work, and has even gotten to know some of the janitors because he’s in there so much haha. Though for future jobs and etc, I’m not so sure about that
