I am likely transferring from a school on the quarter system to a school on the semester system. My first question is will my quarter “units” (12 this year) be equally waited with my semester “units” (8 every year)? Also does the fact that my new school will not accept all of these credits mean anything? Finally, because I was unfortunately accepted for spring admission to the new school, and plan on taking courses as a non-degree student at a third school, likely City College or another 4 year school in the CUNY system, how will these credits count?

LSAC will convert your quarter units to semester units by dividing by 1.5. After that, all units will count, regardless of where they were earned, what your degree status was (with the exception that units earned after a Bachelor’s degree will not count at all), or whether your transfer school accepted the units for credit.

All college units count toward your LSAC GPA. Semester units are equal to 1.5 quarter units.
