i’m doing my homework, reading the book, and i’m studying hours for tests, but i’m still barely passing the class. are there any books or programs that would help me with the subject? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Really? Because when I did that, I aced that mutha****a… But then again they say I am talented in math.

I didn’t use any books. Books don’t help me.

What helps me is doing problems on a regular basis everyday. If I don’t understand something I talk about it with different people. Why?

Because different people use different methods of finding the answer.

It helps me find a way that is easiest for me.

It helps me understand how flexible math really is.

And helps me gain a general, more intrinsic understanding of the mathematics.

I also read some things mathmatecians and Einstein say about math. I don’t know if it will help you, but it just really really helped me put math in general in a new perspective. I stopped seeing it as “Something only smart people can do” which I think is a view that is put all over our culture and I started seeing it as an “art” and a “mere attempt to understand things” and something ANYBODY can do. Not just “geniuses”. :)

You buy a Ti-89 Titanium. Or an HP-50G. ;)

that doesn’t help you understand *** is going on though

I’m taking Pre-Calc (unforunately it’s IB, so extra materials) next year, so I’m interested too.

Honestly, I don’t know how I got good in precalc. I just got really detrimined and instead of procrastination I did my work, paid attention in class, ask questions, and I also joined Mu Alpha Theta (Math club). To philosopher4life:IB precalc, I hear, is actually really easy at my school. It’s easier than precalc honors because you’re just learning material for the IB diploma rather than a general knowledge of the subject. Also, IB Calc (aka IB Math Methods II) teaches you Algebra 2, precalc, and some calc. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry that you’re taking IB precalc. It’s probably different for every school though only because our IB precalc is a joke.

Well I got something for you:
http://www.bagatrix.com/precalculus.htm

I never really tried it - I don’t need it anyway, I aced precalculus since I was in 6th grade - but some people did, and it “actually” helped them.

(I did what Quitejaded did, and it’s really great!) + Books REALLY don’t help when it comes to precalculus. It’s all about practice.

There’s only a week or two left of school anyway. Understanding what’s happening all of the sudden isn’t going to raise your grade much. I’d go with getting the calculator.

you sleep in the class and just do all of homeworks and just study 10~15min for quiz and test thats all…and thats how i do it…
honestly pre-calc is easier than health which is non-academic class

idk, precalc is really easy. Maybe your teacher sucks?? Everyone in my class has an A (well, there might be one or two B’s).

It’s just like Algebra 2…
