How Do I become a SAT Proctor?

Are the proctors volunteers? I want to be a proctor in my senior year and watch the students suffer muhahahaha. I want to see them work and panic when time is up.

So how do I register?

I don;t think they would allow a high schooler to proctor other high school students… You are probably going to have to wait a while in order to proctor.

Trust me you don’t want to wake up at 6:30 am and then watch them take a test for 4+ hours.

I want to make $$$$$$$$

I want to watch them suffer…

But, seriously, you have to be out of high school to be a proctor.

You’re evil…

Yo, 8-8’s, do you want to proctor so you can get the hands on the test? I’m sorry but you vacillated from I want to watch them suffer to I want to make money.

yea that’s what i thought too

i’m pretty sure 88888888 just wants to get his hands on tests

i know this because i actually know someone that does that

I’m pretty much done with my testing…after my June SAT Chemistry test i should be done with SAT I’s and II’s!! Yay!!
Proctors are so cool. I want to be one after I graduate in june 2008. How much to they make? I need to pay for my college expenses.

obviously proctors volunteer for free

even if it paid, how can you expect to pay for part of your college tuition with some test that happens like once every two months and lasts for 4 hours at best (that’s if you’re assigned SAT I, if they assign you SAT II, you work even less)

lol. I expect minimum wage, a whopping $7.75 an hour for 4 hours. That should cover my gas expenses. :p

So, anybody else that considered being a proctor once in their life?

Aren’t proctors usually teachers from the building administrating the test? at least its like that for the high schools :open_mouth:
haha good luck tho :D

I don’t think the proctors are the teachers from the high schools

The proctors are people who work at the building or school that “hosts” the test. (Well, at least from what I have seen.) I took the ACT at my own high school and the proctors were people who worked in our guidance office. Same thing both times when I took the SAT. They were teachers from the school.

I think it’s just like if you’re the homecoming king/queen. The top performing student is asked back to be the proctor. It’s quite the honor from what I understand.

The past two times I took the SAT, my proctors were high school teachers.

the last time I took the SAT the proctor appeared to be a college student.
(she was really bad too…)

no you don’t have to be out of high school. just over 18. I did it when I was in high school.

I know this is an old post…but wanted to let others know that SAT test proctors “average” $25-30 an hour. For 4 hours they can make from $90-150, depending on what test they were administering. So yes, it’s worth the time, you start at 8am and done by 12pm-1pm. Not bad. It’s atleast food for the week.

LOL wow… who brought this post up… from 3 years ago… Wow. i don’t even remember making this post…
