How do I best phrase that I forgot?

So, I got rejected, but everyone else in my “range” is getting in. I think I am close enough to the cutoff range to get in with an appeal. Problem is, all I did was just FORGET to put in leadership and community service. I’m dead serious, I’m not makiing this stuff up just to get in. I thought that putting in Girl Scouts and band would imply all the work that went into it with the number of hours and my short description, so I neglected the lengthy list of positions and services, etc. I know I know LAMEEEE, but Davis is my absolute first choice. So, does anyone have any ideas on how to best phrase that I “ommitted” like half my application? Thanks you guys, here’s my stats:

I think I got around a 7560 originally
I think I could max it out to an 8460, do you guys think that can squeak by? I’m worried the cutoff is 8500 :-x

()=not on original app.

4.0 UCGPA
1800 SAT :-<
3, 4, 4, 5, 5 on Ap’s
44 A-G (+4 for 7/8 math)
Marching Band (was a mentor) (and Orchestra)
Girl Scouts (president 2 years, plus leadership position both other 2)
(Flute Tutor 2 years)
(North County community Band 2 years)
(Calculus tutor this year)
(in the final stage of my GOLD AWARD)

Thanks!

consider appealing. give them updated portfolio and other stuff that may help them better re-evaluate you.

good luck!

Definately you should appeal and give the new information. I think you have an excellent shot. Let them know that Davis is your first choice and mention that it would be great to play in the Band uh!

I think you have a good shot. But, are you cute? I hear colleges have a thing for cute college girls. That might add a couple hundred points if you can document it.

^^^^^^^lol

cutie - UCDAdmissions clarified that they “backfill” your pre-high school math (and foreign language) by crediting you semesters based on your highest level taken, even if you didn’t report your middle school classes. So if you are taking calculus this year, they calculate that you have 10 semesters (Alg1, Geometry, Alg2, Trig (or pre-calc) and calculus, even if only 8 of those semesters were in high school. If you took algebra or geometry in middle school you only get credit for 2 semesters even if it was spread out over 2 years. So they’re probably already calculating that you have 46 semesters based on the way they look at it.

I don’t know about the rest of it, though.

cute is always good :)
