How do I boost my chances in transferring to UC Berkeley if I am an out-of-state student.

Hi everybody, I am a freshman at a university in Florida and i was looking forward to transfer to Berkeley after my sophomore year. I predict that my College gpa will be amazing (probably 3.8-3.9) also my standardized test score, I am retaking SAT in Jan 2017 and I am pretty confident that i will score >1500, but my hs gpa is not great (tbh) so I was wondering that if i apply as a junior, so what are my chances or what extra/exceptional I would have to do to boost my chances.

As a transfer, your high school GPA and SAT aren’t relevant. It’ll come down to your college GPA, your essays, and your extracurriculars. It’s not impossible to transfer from out of state but you are at a serious disadvantage. What major?

And UF is a great school at a great price if you are in-state there.

I am a computer Science Major.

Why transfer?
