I got an essay for the third school I’m applying to, again I don’t know if I’m allowed to disclose it, so I’ll just say its a large school in Ohio. The topic is “Why do you want to attend (said large Ohio school)?”

I have no Idea how to start or how to make it my own. I’m lost on this, can someone help me?

Well, why do you want to attend that …“large school in Ohio”?

If you can’t answer that question, you shouldn’t be applying.

Location, Academics, social atmosphere, the fact that 50,000 people go there, but I don’t want to kiss the schools ass in my essay

Talk about what you like (location, academics, size) and then ask people here to proofread after you have a draft.

Anything more specific? Any specific department you like that also happens to correspond to your own academic or extracurricular interests? For social atmosphere, do you feel that you fit in with the student body because the people you met at the school were curious/compassionate/individualistic/innovative/etc? Did you visit? Did anything jump out at you during your visit? Is there anything special about the school, like residential college, special scheduling or course selection policies that you like? Have you read about the school on wikipedia? What do you want to major in? What exactly do you like about the location?

If you can answer all of that and piece all of it together, that should give you a fairly good, or at least acceptable, essay.
