How Do I Convince My Parents To Let Me Apply To NCSSM?

Hello again! I have recently been talking to my parents about NCSSM. They understandably will not let me go to NCSSM during a global pandemic. Assuming this year is a more regular year, how do I convince my parents to let me apply? Right now, they are unsure because it is such a big decision. Could NCSSM students, applicants, or future applicants tell me the ways they convinced their parents to let them apply? Thank you so much!

@thatonegirlinnc Hi - I’m a parent and I think having them listen to the information sessions would be a great start. But you can apply as an online student rather than a residential student if your parents still have concerns about you being away from home.

My oldest daughter asked me if she could apply and I didn’t know much about it but let her apply as an online student anyway to see what happens. After she got in we went to the informational sessions for accepted students and I was sold and regretted a bit not letting her apply as a residential student. Now my younger daughter was just accepted as a online student.

Good luck
