How do i do well in Reading and English part as a ESL

<p>This is my second year in US, i am having a hard time in English and Reading section.</p>

<p>On April, i did a practice ACT at school, which i got 21 composite (29 in math, 27 in science, 16 in english and 14 in reading).</p>

<p>Since i am ESL, reading is the most difficult part for me.</p>

<p>I can barely understand the essay since there’re some difficult words.</p>

<p>Are there any advise to have better score in English and reading.</p>

<p>I hope i can get 25 or above in the future.</p>

<p>Btw, i am just wonder how do native people guess the meaning if they see a difficult word.</p>

<p>I’m not really sure how to help you bring up your english/reading score, but most native people guess the meaning of a difficult word by examining its root or looking at it in the context of the sentence.</p>
