hey guys, I was wondering how do I drop a class, if that is even possible at this point in the quarter. The reason for me dropping a class was because I did horrible on the first midterm and was never able to recover from it. The best grade I can get at this point is a 2.0. Should I drop this class or stick it through? I don’t want this grade to hurt my gpa and ruin my chances for med school. I don’t know which is worse; a 2.0 or a W on your transcript?

It is too late to drop a class. The last day to drop a class was February 20th. (You can however withdraw from ALL classes thru the 9th, but I would not recommend that in this circumstance) You are just going to have to tough it out and take the grade. If there is still a final/any assignments left, just try as hard as you can, because the class is going on your transcript no matter what.

In future quarters if you want to know about dropping classes, here are the dates: [University of Washington - 2011-12 Academic Calendar](http://www.washington.edu/students/reg/1112cal.html#Q4)

It looks like there is just a week left in this quarter… so, you can’t drop unless you drop all your classes together ([UW Advising - Adding and Dropping Courses](http://www.washington.edu/uaa/advising/registration/ayr.php))
I think that 1-2 Ws won’t hurt your transcript (happens with everyone), but a 2.0 may bring down your GPA significantly… You should have thought about dropping the class earlier.

Yes, you can’t drop the class. A single 2.0 won’t kill you.

Just repeat it later. There are tons of med schools in the caribbean if it comes down to that.
