I’m self study the language now. I tried to start a German club in school, but it didn’t work. I don’t think that any schools around my area even teaches German.

you can put it in the application as a hobby. what year in school are you? If you’re a junior, then you should consider going to Germany this summer.

I am in 9th Grade.

maybe write a book in german
join a local german heritage group or something around where you live
take a german class at a local community college and get a really good letter of rec
study abroad there before your senior year
get involved with the planning of local german festivals around where you live.

Good luck!
These are all just random suggestions. Sorry if they’re dumb.

You can do well on the German SAT II when you’re a junior or senior.

Meanwhile, you’re spending far too much time thinking about how to impress colleges. You’ll live a happier and more successful life if instead, you concentrate on how you can pursue things you’re interested in. If you pursue your interests with depth, success, and creativity and happen to apply to the few colleges that care about ECs, they’ll likely to be impressed. Even if you don’t get accepted by them, at least you will have explored and developed your interests and talents, and that will help you be more successful and happy in college and life in general.
