Hi, I am a junior and I got a 1840 550CR /650M/ 640W on the October 2012 SAT…
I haven’t studied the SAT much since then. Everytime I try to hold a long study session, I never get the motivation to do more than 1 section. I really want a 2100 by next October. Any methods to studying? Thank you!

try to free out your mind from any distractor, your mind usually makes up excuses for you to leave studying and do something else, once you are aware of it you should start neglecting the excuses.

you should also choose the right time and place to study, choose a calm and quiet place and study on the same time hours daily whether at midnight or early morning (these times are usually the best because everybody will be sleeping and no one can annoy you in any way). And before studying set a good plan (dont include so much stuff that may demotivate you as you start getting tired nor include light things that will not be sufficient for improving) usually solving a full length test and reviewing your mistakes makes up a good plan, another day plan is reviewing the writing and math rules, and memorizing some vocab.

Remember that the most important things is to understand your mistakes.

And always keep in mind-- hard work and determination along with good creative planning can lead you to whatever score you wish, even a perfect score.

i like to listen to music and/or close myself up in room with just the tests…

just keep thinking of the positive outcome when you have taken the SAT
