Now you know a little about me, let me tell you why I want to get into MIT.
- I like engineering, like building stuff and electricity.
- I like the challenge and competition

- I fit into their college because I believe I can add to their values and mission. (its very similar to my school’s.)
- Going to MIT gives me amazing job opportunities.

The reason I posted this here is because I feel that the people on this site can actually give me real feedback and advice that I cant get from googling “how to get into MIT”

You go to the MIT campus, find an unlocked building, open one of the doors, and walk inside.

If you’re currently in grade 8, all you can really do at this point is simply keep your grades as high as you can. Admission into MIT is a reach for basically anyone, even people with top scores. It sounds like you’re doing well so far, so just keep up the good work. Excel in high school, stay involved in extra curriculars that you enjoy, take any advanced math/science classes that you can, and if any kind of math/science/tech internship type opportunities pop up over the summer, do what you can to get into them. I can’t say I’m familiar with any opportunities that might be available in Singapore for internships though.

You’re in grade 8 and already trying to figure out what you have to do to go to MIT? When I was your age and on summer break, the most common place to find me was on my couch playing Super Nintendo. Keep yourself motivated.

This reminds me of a Family Guy episode I was watching the other night. It was one of the many episodes where Peter gets into a fight with the Giant Chicken, and the scene stops at a construction site for a minute, and shows two workers sitting down having lunch. The one worker looks at the other one and says, “Oh yeah, did I tell you my son got into Devry?” The other one looks at him and says “Oh yeah? What’d he have to do? Open the door?” I cracked up, and then felt really bad about it, because I actually have a couple friends that went to Devry.

They should really put a like button on the posts
