How do I get through to my mom?

@ iPhoneHacker - I’ve been following your story. If you haven’t gotten your mom a mother’s day present, think about a picture of you and her together in a frame. You can probably find one on your home computer, printing is less then $1 at Target etc., and your parents may actually have photo paper sitting in your printer at home. A small frame is less than $10. Write her a note thanking her for her confidence in you. When you go to orientation, you might want to pick out a t-shirt from Pitt, a ‘Pitt Mom’ sticker, or a Pitt coffee mug, to bring her. She will appreciate the thought and it may help her start to identify herself with your new school.

The very best of luck to you!!

Something you might want to look in to…does Pitt have a Mom’s Weekend or Parent’s Weekend (or both?).

Pull up the information, print it out, and make a fancy invitation for your mom as part of her mother’s day present. It will let her know that you want to continue to include her in your college life.

Family Weekend. It is in October, I think.

and belive it or not, she should probably book a room now!

^ YES! I attempted to do this in mid-April (not Pitt), and wasn’t too successful. Luckily we are close enough to drive for a day.
