So basically, I’m in college and there is this girl that I really like. I gave her flowers and a teddy bear yesterday and told her how I feel about her. She was very flattered but at the same time pretty surprised and didn’t quite know what to say when I asked her how she felt. She did agree to go on a date soon, although I don’t exactly know if she really wanted to go.

So basically, I want to follow-up with her and see what exactly the situation is (now that she’s had some time to think about it). Any ideas how? How should I talk to this about her? I’m still not exactly sure how she feels.

I also want to ask her if she was alright with everything that I did that day and that I hope I didn’t go too far. Would that be fine?

Give her some time to respond and absorb. Just don’t rush and keep pushing on her. If she’s interested, she will say okay let’s go out. :)

Have you ever gone on a date with her? The flowers and teddy bear was supposed to come afterwards, but since she agreed on a date and you really like her, it could turn out to be a cute way to start a relationship, if things work out.

The follow-up should be the date. That’s where you and her evaluate each other and get a sense of things. Towards the end, you should have more information about feelings based on just the date alone. The teddy bear / flowers might be irrelevant to the overall situation.

I suggest that you don’t ask her whether or not she was alright with the stuff you did that day. It shows a lack of confidence on your side. If I were you, I’d just wait for her comments and indirectly inquire about how she’s liking the teddy bear.

Well the thing is that while she agreed to go on a date, we never set a specific time yet (my fault for not doing so), so how would I follow up for that?

I figure that since I’m the one asking her out, I should be the one following up to see where things stand with the date.

I think you should wait a day or two to let things absorb. Then text her and ask her if she’d be available the coming weekend - but keep the texts short and sweet. Good luck! :)

Out of curiosity, how close were you with this girl prior to this encounter?
