How do I know I've made the right decision regarding Berkeley vs UCSD? Love advice!

So… I love UCSD. The laid-back feel of the campus, the beautiful Torrey Pines, and the superior academics are hard to beat. I’m happy about the fact that the ocean is only a few minutes away, and that it’s sunny year-round. I just submitted my SIR to Revelle College today!

UCSD has only been my top choice for a few months, and before UCSD it was UC Berkeley. I was accepted for Cal’s spring term 2014 yesterday, but with much prodding from my mother (UCSD is her alma mater, and she’s been pushing it very strongly since the beginning of the college application process), and some stunted thinking about the reasons I wanted to go to either, I feel I made a rather hasty decision, especially without knowing anything about Berkeley’s Fall Program for Freshmen. It is Berkeley, after all.

I’m wondering, what have I missed out on by choosing not to go to Cal? Would anyone be willing to give me a little more information about their experience at or perception of either school?

lol u’ll do well werever u go…

Last year I chose UCSD (Aerospace Engineering) over UCB (Mechanical Engineering) & UCLA (Aerospace Engineering).
It was good decision. I am happy @ UCSD.

To be honest, I would reconsider.

UCSD is an academic school without the complete college experience that Cal can provide. It lacks the international prestige of Berkeley.

But if you are adamant, UCSD isn’t a bad school.
