One of my colleagues is retiring at the end of the month and I am in charge of creating a CD with photos and music that we will play for her at her last faculty meeting.

I was picked for this task because I am the unofficial department photographer, so I do have lots of photos. But I have very limted understanding of computer things and I have no idea what kind of program I need to actually create the CD.

Do you have Windows Movie Maker on it? If not, it is a free download. I think it is easy to use. You will need to have the photos and the music you want to use on your computer of course. The program will walk you through downloading the photos and music on a timeline and then finishing up the movie. Then you load the blank CD/DVD into the computer and burn the finished movie onto it. This is obviously a very simplified explanation, but you can start by getting familiar with Windows Movie Maker. There are other programs that are more sophisticated but this is a free one that is fairly user friendly.
