So I now have a study guide with about 6 pages worth of notes (outlined) but don’t know how to study for my test… any suggestions?

I can do practical exams easily (Calculus, Accounting, etc)

But when it comes to theory I’m really bad at it.

My previous semesters I was memorizing my outlines word by word for Pol Sci, but I’m sure there’s a better way to do it… because memorizing is tedious, frustrating and I really don’t remember even half of what I memorized…

Any suggestions for the Theory part?

I can handle maps pretty good… so I just need help in the theory part…

Yeah, for regular textbook stuff, just read over the section 4-5 times and really let it sink in, then look at the title of each section (w/out actually reading it again) and recite what you read in each section down to specific details until you have everything down.

S1 and S2 both told me that playing “strategy” games on the computer helped their grasp of geography. Apparently, when you are taking over the world or trying to revive the Roman Empire, it helps to know your geography. (And actually, I think it did. Both made it to the State level in the National Geographic GeoBee competition.)

Try to find television programs that are covering the area you need to study for. I find watching National Geographic or the History channel really drills in whatever it is I’m studying because they over-repeat a lot.
Go over your notes first then watch the show.

it really helps if you can make some generalities about certain areas about how the people live/lived, etc. That way you have some real knowledge you can fall back on instead of blindly guessing, just like if you learn root words for an English exam.
