how do I study for the Act?

im planning on taking the ACT after summer (prob nov) and i just wanted to know the best ways/materials to strudy for it.

Also if i get a bad score in my ACT, will colleges see it? or can I just send my SAT score which was a 2150

thx

what colleges are you looking at? A 2150 is considered a great score at most colleges… but if you’re considering taking the ACT, get the barron’s “ACT 36” and the barron’s “6 ACT practice tests”. I took the ACT in February and got a 27 without studying. I went to Barnes and Noble, bought those two books, and raised my ACT to a 32 in less than a month when I took it at my high school. The best thing you can do to study is PRACTICE. The challenging part of the ACT is the timing. SAT is definitely more lenient with time, but you really have to pace yourself on the ACT or you will not finish the sections. Read through the ACT 36 book and get a good idea of test taking strategies and the questions that they will ask. Then, take the practice tests in the ACT book and look back over what you missed. Make sure to time these practice tests like the actual ACT. Also, in the event that you will not be able to finish a section, pick an arbitrary letter and bubble in all of your unfilled answers with that letter before time runs out. You are NOT penalized for wrong answers on the ACT so guess as much as you can. Also, whether or not the “bad score” is seen depends on the college. Some ask to see your best score, some ask to see all of your scores (I think the ivies do this but I’m not sure), and some colleges superscore, which requires you to send in multiple scores if you have higher scores in different subsections on different tests. Good luck!
