How do I write a biosketch for a letter of recommendation?

Hello! I could really use some advice regarding this.

One of my professors agreed to writing a letter of recommendation for me, however, he asked me for a biosketch first. I’m not quite sure how to actually format and write one. Is a biosketch simply a bullet-point list of what you would like for them to include in the letter, or is it just a nice way of them asking me to write the letter for myself so that they can sign off on it?

Thank you!

He’s asking for your resume – your curriculum vitae.

You should include your education (your school, major, GPA), your relevant research/work/internship experience (with short descriptions of major projects), any academic activities and awards, and any publications or conference abstracts.

check your college’s career services. Most/all of them have examples of cover letters, resumes and CVs available online.
