How do internships look on college applications?

So I go to an academic tutoring session from 9:30 AM to 2:15 PM at a local college, every Saturday during the school year. I have been attending since my ninth grade year. I am a senior year now. During my ninth grade year, the CEO and founder of a local law firm attended a meeting and have a speech at the college. He then revealed that he attended the same program that I am in right now when he was my age. He is about sixty now. He attended Vanderbilt University for graduate school. I talked to him and he said I can get an internship at his firm. How do internships look on college applications and will a letter of recommendation from him help me when I apply to Vanderbilt?

Good and yes, but probably not as much as you think. GPA and test scores still matter more.

I don’t know about College Entrances. However, internships will look good on your resume. Especially, when you are fresh out of college and are entering the job market.

And let’s not worry so much about “how it will look” and talk more about what it will teach you (gentle smile). Internships are excellent, real world experiences from which you can learn how a particular career path actually looks, as opposed to how you imagine it is  You learn all sorts of stuff which you do not get from books/classroom type learning. By all means, if you have such an opportunity, take it!
