<p>Hey when looking at off-campus housing in IV, they give you an amount per month. Do leases typically go for the school year, or do you have to rent it for the full year and sublease it when you’re not there?</p>
<p>Oh man. I had this problem and I HATED IT this is why I applied to university housing because they go for a 9 month lease while other noncampus owned apartments go for 12 months. Pretty much you’ll be on vacation for 3+ months and you’ll still have to pay that rent.
they usually give you a sample contract. if they haven’t… ASK. When i applied to the apartments, my contract started in JUNE and school starts in september so I would have pretty much paid $740 x 3 for no reason.</p>
<p>Most off-campus housing in IV goes for 12 months, either from June to June or September to September. University housing goes for 9 months, but they can be more expensive month-to-month. You can also find apartments in IV that are on a month-to-month lease basis (these tend to be a little shadier).</p>
