<p>Since the questions aren’t in the order of the passage, how am I supposed to find the key phrases to the questions? I read fast, but I find stuff slow.</p>

everyone tells me - i read the passages so quickly but i did terrible.
well, reverse the strategy. immerse youself in the passage. i mouth it while im reading it. it helps me to become interested and to fully understand everything that is happening in my first read. read slightly slower. let it all in. dont speed read through it. you will spend forever on the questions. i usually hardly ever have to reference to the passage after i am finished reading the passage because i take my time reading.</p>
<p>i try to do that but… i never have enough time for questions =S… I always have to read the first sentence and last sentence of each paragraph, and on the side write what is about. When a question asks for certain answer, i go back and find where that question belong (from the sidenotes i write). Finally on the question that asks you the whole plot, I skim till I find the answer</p>
<p>I have Cracking the ACT and the section on reading is AWESOME. You need to look for camouflage words, distractors, etc. I never read the passage first. I skim it quickly then look at the questions, and play close attention to what they’re asking, then find the part of the passage that would answer it. You really don’t get much out of reading the whole passage.</p>
<p>I heard PR’s reading section advice was horrible. Any other comments on PR’s reading section’s advice?</p>
<p>It is pretty horrible. It will work 1 out of every 100 students who try it. Basically, you’ll spend all your time looking for the answer in the passage when you’ll have a much better chance just following nmatth’s advice above.</p>
