i was talking to my friend and his friend got into UCSD with two F’s and i also don’t get how there are .6% of the people that got admitted has under a 3.0

You DO know that there are other factors besides grades that determines one’s admission, right? But I have to admit, your friend’s case is VERY rare.

Did he do any ECs? Maybe his personal statement really touched them?

Makes you feel like crap huh?

Maybe he’s lying to you.

unless he got 2350 on SAT, has terminal cancer, had a parent die, and is an eagle scout…i highly doubt he really got in

hmmmm i got into ucsd with an f. i made the class up but that f is still on my high school transcript. =/ n my sat scores were low… haha like 1600 n my gpa was 3.8…i think i was one of those lucky ppl. =/

I got in with an F. it was a mistake in my report card, but still got in.

lot’s of “mysterious” admissions happen everywhere, UCLA, Cal…

goes to show that grades AREN’T everything. colleges want the best people! not the highest GPAs. =)

threads these days are really losing their quality (if there ever was any)

well i was one of the lucky ones…having a 3.25 GPA n low SAT scores…i mean low…n i got into UCSD…i wonder why…maybe it was my statements…or i dont know…but for sure it was god’s blessing…

Seems like your statement has been proven CR.

lol (10char)

unexpected things always happen…

It is possible to get 2 F’s and get into any UC school. What your friend did was that he repeated the course again and possibly gotten A’s in the. The A grades simply replaces the F grades…

alleycat’s right.

I failed AP US History and got in

i took us history in summer school and got an A, and the A is what factors into your GPA.
They still see the F of course.
But it helps if you pass the remedial course nicely.
or slap em in the face with a 4 on the AP test

thats how I roll

lol
