How do schools interpret a large score increase for the SAT?

I improved my score from a 1260 to a 1460. Are schools going to like how I improved my score by so much of are they going to question my low score? Is my sat score of a 1460 any different than someone who just took it once and got a 1460 or someone that took it a few times and his/her score was constantly in that range?

Colleges don’t over-analyse how a student achieved a score. Besides you don’t even need to send both scores unless the school has a policy to see all scores.

I think they will focus on the highest score.

If you retake it and get near a 1460, then they might see the 1260 as a fluke. But if you retake it and get a score closer to a 1260, they might get a little suspicious as to how you got the 1460.
