how do so many professors become politicans (obama) and bankers (Walter Massey)?
Walter Massey was a physics professor before he worked at bank of america.

when did 2= "so many’?

Walter Massey was much more than a physics professor. His experience as a corporate board member, foundation trustee and director, and as a college president almost certainly were more influential in his appointment to BofA than the fact that he happened to teach physics at one time.

Also, Obama did not become a professor until he was a politician. Perhaps a better example would be Condoleeza Rice who taught at Stanford prior to entering the Bush Administration.
