I took the sat twice and got 2100 then 2140. i took the act once and got a 35. should i retake the sat to try and display that the act score was not a fluke? how does it look just sending the act to schools such as duke/washu/nu/upenn and other top caliber schools?

A lot of people are better at one test or another. I, for example, consistently score much better on the ACT than the SAT. However, if you really feel that you can improve your SAT a lot, definitely take it again! Even at a top-tier college, a 2140 is still a really good score. Since you did well on both tests, it shows colleges that you are capable of doing well on both exams, but, like many other people, you are just better at the ACT than the SAT. Again, that’s perfectly fine! In short, if you feel you can improve on your SAT score, then by all means do so, but if you don’t think that’s possible, a 35 on the ACT with an extremely solid SAT is great too!

hey, I’m sort of like you but a little worse, I got a 1960–>2100, then a 34 my first ACT. I’m Just taking the ACT 1 more time, and only submitting my ACT, no need to submit your SAT why do you feel you need to do so? The tests are made such that a 35 isn’t a “fluke”. Yeah, you could really be a 34 skill level and have a “fluke” and end up a 35, but you’re still in the right range so it doesn’t matter.

Keep in mind that the SAT and ACT have different formats and people do better on one of them rather than the other. I’ve heard that the SAT is more about test-taking abilities and endurance where the ACT is more about your knowledge.
