How do the Scantrons grade our tests?

Do a bunch of laser lights flash onto EACH circle to see what is/isn’t filled in? We took it on multiple pages, so do they have to manually turn each page, or does a machine have to turn them itself? There are millions of SATs to grade, so what do they do?The ACT had all 4 tests on one page, so it could probably grade your test instantly.

More pages means it’s harder to cheat and go back because the proctor can see /hear you turning your answer sheet. All they can do on the ACT is be highly vigilant and notice that one person out of the 25+ in there had some on one of his sections not bubbled in just 30 minutes ago(since guessing doesn’t penalize you, you might want to fill in random bubbles if you didn’t answer questions. I personally keep a good track of time and guess in the last minute so I do’nt worry about it). So does this multiple pages thing get into cheating or just something they haven’t thought to do to speed up the process?

A computer uploades your scantron sheets and it grades it very efficiently and fast, opposed to a high school teacher or whoever grading it. It’s done pretty quickly i’ve heard.
