This is likely a common question, but I kept getting mixed answers and wanted to clarify. Do the UCs see your senior year grades and if so how does this affect your decision?
I have a 3.65 UW and 4.1 W GPA applying for public health + food sciences. I have always struggled in math (Bs and As) but challenged myself with taking AP Calculus my senior year. I am at risk of receiving a C for my first semester and am very worried. Otherwise than that, this semester I have all As in my 3 other AP courses, 1 non-honors academic, and an elective. How will this possible C affect me?
One C is not an issue. Senior grades are reviewed after an applicant is admitted and enrolls. The UC’s review Senior grades for completion of the Senior a-g courses and also if the grades meet the terms of the provisional admission contact.
Senior grades are not considered in the initial application review.
Most UC’s require a 3.0 weighted GPA Senior year and no D’s or F’s.
UC Berkeley and UCLA have historically required a 3.0 unweighted GPA, no more than 2 C’s and no D’s or F’s Senior year.
