How do they decide?

How do the adcoms decide whether your ACT or SAT scores better reflects your application? (assuming the college requires SAT and SAT IIs or ACT)

The better score. They have rough conversion charts.

But how do they decide if the SAT IIs are better or worse than the ACT subscores? I did a lot better on the reading on the ACT than on the Lit for SAT II, but my overall score for ACT was lower than my SAT composite…in other words, do they only use conversions for the overall score?

subscores…

SISIS subscores…

…still not helping…
I already said, what if one subscore is higher than an SAT II but overall ACT is lower than SAT, would they take the ACT b/c it’s higher than SAT II or SAT b/c it’s higher overall than ACT

even if u have an act score, you still need to take the SATII. its not like a science sub score= sat2 bio, chem, or physics,

Actually, Yale does not require SAT subject tests if you take the ACT. However, I wasn’t pleased with my ACT score, so I took subject tests also.

I meant yes they compare your related subscores NOT compostie

really…mm but how can a science sub score account for a satII, thats illogical.

i agree but many schools do accept your ACT score instead of SAT and SAT II…but how they choose between the two if both are submitted idk
