How do they keep track of all the stuff?

So many schools have huge numbers of applicants – some have thousands. How do they keep track of all the material coming in? Where do they put it? They have packages from applicants, from GCs, from recommenders. How do they file it all and keep it all together? They do, I know, but how?

MIT Admissions used to have pictures on their site. I don’t know if they are still up.

Actualy sometimes they do get it mixed up. I was my son’s “administrative assistant”. I don’t think it would ever have been a problem, but one school opened 2 files on him and some others had parts of his file in different places. If I hadn’t been hovering, they would probably have straightened it out without me. Try to relax–I should have.
