How do u get into Princeton?

what is it like to attend Princeton and what do most students in Pinceston study?
Do they have music undergraduate programs?

Many study politics, economics, or history. Music is a very renowned program at Princeton. If you go to the Princeton website all of these questions can be easily answered, and more.

Pinceston is a great university. Not to be confused with neighboring Princeton, the school offers a variety of programs, such as basic spelling and Googling.

be nice saugus.

^^ That was neither funny nor clever.

how sophomoric, class of '16 er -_-

Great grades, good test scores, and indications that you will contribute to campus.

I am sure the experiences of students are unique, but there are certainly some commonalities. I am not a Princeton student, so I won’t tackle this specifically.

Yes, see [Undergraduate Program -*The Department of Music at Princeton University - Undergraduate Program](http://www.princeton.edu/music/undergraduate-program/).

No major comprises a majority of students.

“how sophomoric, class of '16 er -_-”

not all of us are like that :/

Clever… Very clever indeed.

^^^ I didn’t get the joke at first but Saugus, you are hilarious.

There’s nothing that all Princeton acceptees have. I think that’s what the Princeton admission committee attempts to achive. Obviously, everyone is a great student and dedicate, but there is no one thing that will get you in or one thing that all Princetonians share.

I think Princeton is much more scores and Class Rank oriented when it comes to selection. If you go in with a 2300+, as a Valedictorian, and with some reasonably good ECs, you’ll stand a better chance there than anywhere else.

you apply and they pick you. duhrrr

I don’t know enough to make a comparison with other schools, but you can get interesting statistics here: [Princeton University | Admission Statistics](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/admission_statistics/)

Particularly interesting to me was the stat that the acceptance rate for 2300+ SAT applicants was 26%. Another way of looking at it is that only a fraction of one percent of applicants get scores that high, and for every 100 such people that apply, 74 are rejected. (Of course, this beats 92 out of 100 people being turned down over all).

I am inclined to agree with MSauce. They picked me, after all.

me, too. i got in with a 2400 and above average but not amazing ECs. i didn’t even play a sport or anything or win an international olympiad medal, and yet I got in as an international coming from a very competitive country pool. and i was rejected at HYSM

To the above international poster- Did you attend a United World College? If so that was important to your being admitted. To the OP there are relatively few music majors however as a cellist you can perform with Conductor Pratt. If you choose you may seek a certificate in music performance and the department will pay half the cost of private lessons. As a music major I believe it is 100% of the cost. A world renowned violist graduated from Princeton in 2008 and he majored in politics, I believe.
There are alot of history, econ, english and history majors but others choose languages, comp lit.About 90 students are admitted every year into the Woodrow Wilson Program.

nah, i attended a local school. why do you say that about UWC?

Because my kid is a junior and the majority of her friends are internationals .The UWC is a huge feeder to Princeton.

^ I know Princeton likes to accept UWC students. Do you happen to know how many are accepted a year from any of the UWC schools?
