<p>I was told that UCs only give credit for one semester only, so there would be no point in taking more AP tests on the same subject. For example, if you already passed one math AP test, you would get math credit and taking another one wouldn’t matter.</p>

That’s not the case where I go (UCI), I got all the AP credit I earned.</p>
<p>Regarding math, you won’t get more credit for taking both calculus AB and BC than you would get taking just BC, since AB is a subset of BC (unless you get a lower score on BC than you get on AB). But that is true just about anywhere, not just UC.</p>
<p>For example, if you get a 5 on AB, a college may give you credit for first semester freshman calculus. If you get a 5 on BC, the same college may give you credit for first and second semester freshman calculus, but won’t give you any additional credit if you also get a 5 on AB.</p>
