How do we know what classes to take???

Is there any way to find out what classes(including core classes) that we are required to take for our designated major??

i am in pre-bioengineering:pre-med

also whats a good amount of units to take first year for a difficult major…

thanks

You could google your major and UCSD and you should find a sample plan.

This is the sample one for Sixth College: [Four-Year Plan 2005: Bioengineering: Pre-Med](http://sixth.ucsd.edu/academics/advising/fouryear-plans/fyp-2005/fouryear-plan-2005-bioengineering-premed.html)

and as for amount of units, i know a lot of people who started with 12 units and increased from there. It’s also good I suppose to sign up for an extra class, and if you can’t handle the workload, drop it?

There’s also four year plans at vac.ucsd.edu and you can also ask your academic advisor online at that site.

google ucsd general catalog -> courses, curricula, and programs tab -> find your major and click on it -> read

It consists of mostly chem 6a until finish, math 20a until finish, and your college class requirement, i forgot the last one, but it’s a loaded course.
