<p>Most colleges calculate an unweighted GPA… I have rarely heard of a school inflating a GPA rather than compressing it. Usually your high school GPA is weighted, due to an extra emphasis for AP, IB or Honors classes. Colleges, in turn, will re-calculate your GPA to a standard scale, with no emphasis on AP, IB or Honors classes.</p>
