It seems that it’s suggested to collect at least 25 examples for your SAT essay so that you’ll be ready when you take the real thing. How does one go about collecting examples? Do you research books with universal themes? Read newspapers and hope to find something that can be applied to life?

I would say just collect examples from your personal life. If not, make up “examples” from your personal life. That’s what i do. I got 10s on both my SATs, and although they’re not 12s, I have friends who did the same and got 12s.

But, if you feel the need to take something from literature, I would read small novels that are highly regarded by the general reading crowd. I’m not a huge reader, but I would look for a list of some sort.
