How do you commit to a school?

<p>My ds is just a Jr. but I am playing out different scenarios in my mind this time next year…
He likes School A but wont know if he is a DA in B School until possibly May 1. Probably not a lot of Scholarship money but more prestige.</p>

<p>He also likes School B also but wont know scholarship info until late April.</p>

<p>School C is also a possibility, they are rolling out the red carpet but its much farther away than he wanted to go.</p>

<p>School A has a small Biz. school, if he doesnt get in as a DA, just not very appealing.
Still extremely competivie after freshman year, would have to retake some HS classes ( possibly). He risks the chance of not getting in B school. Smart kid but you know…Freshman do find trouble?!</p>

<p>How do you commit or decide - I feel like we will have to roll the dice. Arent Housing choices and deposits generally due May 1?!</p>

<p>Direct admit. My advice to the OP is to chill and see where your son is with admissions/aid next spring.</p>

<p>(And yes–May 1st is a pretty universal deadline for accepting an offer of admission.)</p>
