How do you correct a professor?

So I saw my writing professor write, “Beleive” instead of ‘believe’.

I didnt say anything.

But should I? What do you think?

“hey FOOL. you misspelled dat man. Watchu tryin to do man? steer us away into bad spellin? man u jive man. You so jive.”

Don’t say anything. You know what the message is of what the professor is trying to convey. Pointing out something like that would give the impression that you are a snob.

It’s a professor, not a third grader. I’m sure whatever credentials the professor has entitles him or her to make that kind of mistake once in a while. You’re a college student with nothing to your name. Correcting something so minute would be very, very rude.

My professor misspells words in the notes and on the exams occasionally, it’s really not a big deal and he’s clearly just in a rush when he’s writing them. They can take that liberty if they want to.

I agree that this seems rather trivial. When a professor makes a mistake that prevents you from understanding, you can correct with a question about the material. This way you can pretend you don’t understand (which you don’t), and he can correct his error or explain the reasoning as to why it is actually correct. It also helps to know the character of the professor. I had one math professor who didn’t mind being corrected on the simplest things that didn’t even matter.

However, if you have a professor who has a large ego, you can say goodbye to a letter of recommendation.

Don’t do it. Everyone makes mistakes. Don’t appear to be a snob.

Dont say anything until after class. Then if its just you and the teacher i would tell them. I wonder when teachers are always looking at their notes and make mistakes. They are suposed to be super smart, so when they arent it makes me wonder. If they cant teach right then everyone in the class should get an A.

Someone fell asleep during his logics class.
