Blue jeans with long underwear underneath? Are you from Florida? This is SE Michigan, not Alaska.

I wear jeans with long underwear underneath all the time, born in raised in SE Michigan. Being out in the wind with just jeans? No thanks. If I’m just walking from my car to a building that’s one thing, but walking between buildings for class and such you’re outside a fair amount.

You deal with it by having awesome snowball fights

long underwear is good for when it drops below zero, otherwise it’s not necessary.

I would have appreciated them today. 40mph wind gusts and a wind chill of 11.

I kind of want to stay at school now. My mom won’t turn the heater up at home over 55. I am going to freeze.

Sounds like it would be a good ideal for you to consider University of Florida and experience the winter season as part of your winter break.

You should get a small electric space heater for $20.
I have one in my room and it turns on and off automatically. Best $20 I’ve spent.

They’re not allowed in the dorms, though, for reference.

Meh. In theory there are a million things that aren’t. In practice, almost everybody has something that’s not allowed in their rooms.

That may be true, but I think that disclaimer should be made when telling someone they should bring something.

I spent $300 on a really big, really nice fridge for my roommate and I to share, as we agreed beforehand, and she brought a second fridge anyway. So that’s our illegal item. Silly girl.

why was it like -12 windchill today? I don’t remember it ever being this cold in the beginning of December. I hope this doesn’t mean it will only get colder come Jan., Feb., and March.

Sometimes it takes longer to get cold than others, it got cold a little earlier this year. It may warm up again yet before we hit Jan-Feb, or it could stay this cold. My furnace is broken. Ugh.

well everyone, i want to thank all of you for the four pages of information!

i just got into Cornell ED, and am ecstatic, but want to thank the community here on the michigan boards-you guys all seem so great, and its been so nice reading your posts!

(the information about the cold will still come in handy in ithaca, too!)
