How Do You Decorate (outside or inside) for Fall???

I used to go all out with fall decorations when the kids were younger and we hosted Thanksgiving. Now, the baton has been passed to SIL and I don’t really bother. I will buy potted white flowers (mums?) that will carry into the Xmas season for my doorstep.

Since we don’t have a real fall in south Florida, the first photo on this page works for me!

^Wow, those are really… Interesting. Very good artist, beautifully done. I don’t know how I would feel if I lived in Florida, but as a Midwest girl, I like pumpkins to be orange.

I feel less like decorating for fall with the kids all gone, but I have 3 giant bins of stuff so maybe I’ll go through it and decide what to put out and what to give away.

When my kids were young I did a lot of Halloween decorating. That and the full size candy bars we give out made our house one of the favorites in our neighborhood. It was fun.

Now that the kids are grown and I work full time I donated/threw away all of the Halloween stuff and just decorate for fall.

P.S. we still give out the big candy bars.

@FallGirl there’s a house in my neighborhood the girls call “the Symphony Bar House” because they used to give out full-sized chocolate bars. It was amazing because our neighborhood typically goes through 5 or 6 bags of costco-sized candy on halloween, and I can’t imagine how many candy bars they had to buy!

I too buy full costco bars. Either Reese’s or the combo bags. Only one nice did my 2 boxes run out, I am scrambled to give breakfast bars. Now I buy an extra box, and return. If peanut butter cups are in my house, especially in the freezer, I will eat them all. Sad but true

^^Yep I also have to buy candy I don’t like, or I’ll eat it all…

I buy the large movie theatre size candy but I only get a few dozen kids because we live at the top of a pretty big hill. I need to make it worth their while.

I, too, used to decorate but no longer.

I have a board meeting at our synagogue on Halloween night this year. DH won’t be home from work when the trick-or-treaters come, and S2 will be out playing floor hockey. I won’t have to buy any this year! Reese’s PB cups are my downfall. The rest of the candy I can live without.

Meanwhile, I should probably take down my Spring’s Here! flag.
