For some reason, I mostly have a hard time getting a high score on multiple choice tests. Like in AP World History my essays usually get high scores (5s or 6s or 7s) but my multiple choice scores are usually not very good. Once I even studied for a test for the class for several hours the night before and still got a lower score than I hoped! Another time, I was so overwhelmed by a test that I couldn’t recall most of the information I studied the night before. Plus, I mostly have a hard time choosing the best answer. I’m worried that these problems will continue in my other AP classes and any other tests I will take. Do you guys have any tips on getting good scores on any multiple choice test?
- Before viewing the possible answers, try answering the question yourself before viewing the choices to make the best possible guess.
- Try sticking to your first guess. Statistics show that they are the most accurate.
- Don't overthink questions! This becomes more of an issue for me the more I prepare for a test. I faced this problem at the AP World History exam, so this is an issue I still face, but my best solution to this is to trust my first instinct.
