How do you factor your GPA?

<p>I have 21 credit hours and 59.50 total grade points. On my unofficial transcript it says that my GPA is a 2.4.
Is this correct?</p>

<p>Your GPA is based on letter grades, or, at some schools, is out of 100%. You need to add up your numerical GPA for each class (A=4.0, etc) and divide by the number of classes.</p>
