How do you find out what you are passionate about?

Any comments…

I think you start with school.

Which classes are your favorites? And why?

OK, on to your spare time. Let’s assume that any activities you’re involved are those that follow your own interests, no padding for college admissions. What do you like most about those activites?

Do you have a part time job? What are the best and worst parts of it?

Do you enjoy travel? Why or why not?

Do you enjoy spending time with people? Talking and interacting with them? Or are you more comfortable in front of a computer screen? And, if so, are there people on the other end of the modem or an app/game/program?

I think a big part of it for many kids is finding out what they DON’T want. Then, as they take a variety of college coursework, that focus narrows.

It would entail trying lots of new things, and not just trying them, but completing them in a way that gives the students a chance to really learn something about themselves.

Well I won’t reiterate what others above me have said, but I have always looked to books such as Simon Sinek’s Start With Why and Greg Reid’s Three Feet From Gold. Also, there are some very interesting Ted Talks that you can find online relating to finding your passion. The Secret is another popular book that you may want to look into.
