<p>My daughter is looking at the Acer Aspire One 522 model netbook, and on the website overview it states that it has optional 3G. Does this need to be paid for at purchase, paid monthly, or is it just integrated into the netbook regardless? On other pages listing the specifications of the netbook, 3G rarely shows up.</p>
<p>My H has one. The 3G is optional, the card is installed inside the netbook. He pays something like $30/month to AT&T. It’s not the fastest connection but when there is no wifi it’s great to have.</p>
