How do you get a guy that likes you off your back?

I admit it–I lead guys on, mostly unconsciously. They’d be great for a one night stand. Some might even pass for more than that, but I don’t want a relationship with them.

Yes, I’m very picky, but it’s for the better, considering how many a**holes I run into daily. :)

So, how do you get them to stop bothering you? Keep in mind that I want to stay friendly…but this guy is just entirely wrong for me, in every respect. I regret it, because I liked him on sight, quite a bit. A few days later, he’s just mental.

I should also add, I’m just not the type to put effort into actually dating a guy, unless I really like him and can see a future with him. Yes, I’m that serious.

Just tell him you want to be friends…though…define “mental”?

Step One: Don’t lead guys on. Even though you claim it’s unintentional, you’re aware you’re doing it. Stop.

Step two: Do not have sex with *******s.

Step three: Try being a grown up and be up front with your expectations.

this thread is out of place on this forum lol

Hmmm, perhaps mental is too strong a word. It is his behavior, which I feel is irrational and “agitated.” I can’t think of a better way to describe it, but he’s basically ADD, constantly insults every guy around him, and hates it when I’m nice to other guys. Can’t function like that, lol. Sorry–he’s just not my type, no offense!

Fullofpop, it really is not my intention. I did like him at first sight, so I gave him a chance–giving him a chance, in my case, naturally involves flirting. Now I’ve realized I don’t actually like him, just who I assumed he was, so I don’t want to lead him on.

I don’t, lol. Be up front with my expectations? How would that go, I wonder? Should I offer a list? -_-

1) I’m ADD -_- lol
and
2) Sounds like he is EXTREMELY protective and a little immature
Really all I can say to do is what I said before…and if he doesn’t listen then stop talking to him for a bit and see if he comes around an apologizes for his behavior. Best of luck to you.

When you meet someone, say something like “Hey, I’m not after anything serious right now, but you wanna hang out/fool around/**** my brains out?”

And then if you don’t like him, “Sorry, this isn’t working for me.”

Tada.

I like Fullofpop’s strategy. As guys, we get the point much more easily if you’re clear and direct. Most of the time it’s hard to read your signals, even if they are aversive.

Just tell him.

“I admit it–I lead guys on, mostly unconsciously”

me too.

" I’m just not the type to put effort into actually dating a guy, unless I really like him and can see a future with him."

again, me too.

I have a really bad habit of turning kind of *****y when I notice a guy likes me that I don’t like back. I end up talking about other guys in front of him. Mean, but it works. If you want to be nicer about it, just mention that you’re enjoying being single, living it up, etc. He should get the hint pretty fast.

Be direct and tell him you’re just not interested. Dropping hints is childish.

If you have a problem with leading guys on, being coy isn’t going to do you any favors. Just tell him straight up that you’re not interested in dating him.

Yeah you sound like a catch.

HA! Not even close to possible.

Read the ladder theory, it’s useful for girls too, seeing as most know what they want for themselves about as much as the guys who pursue them do. Which is to say, nothing.

Just ignore them. It’s not difficult…

This thread is nothing without pics. We need pics of you in order for us to confluence our thoughts and give you the wright advice :p

Agreed with the second statement. Be direct and tell him you aren’t interested in dating him, but would like to still be friends (that is, if you do want to still be friends). Females don’t know anything about males, so I would suggest sticking to the guys’ advice in this thread.
