How do you interpret unofficial invite as a senior football player??

S received two invites to schools to watch games (along with tickets for his parents) where he attended camps this summer. Interested in both, but has only received phone call/email from one of the schools. How would you interpret the invites? Is he on the mailing list from the camp or do they usually “weed out” some of the prospects at this point? Worth attending? Getting late and ED fast upon us.

I do not believe that everyone who attends camp gets game tickets and an OV. My son attended camps and did not recieve OV there, did get OV without attending other camps. It is always worth attending if only to see the school and team and see where it rates for your son.

Not sure–
I dont think being invited to a game is an OV…unless they have been looking at your students transcript etc and other stuff …and have been discussing recruiting.

Hopefully a parent with kids in football can add some help here

My point…absolutely not an OV, although they have seen transcripts/scores prior. Hard to interpret the level of interest.

Aren’t you interested in what a game day experience at this school is like?

To be asked to attend games usually means you are on their recruiting board. Coaches seeing a player in camp helps evaluate talents. Usually players will get invited on to the field to talk to coaches before/after the game.

Go and ask coach, “where do I stand”, Tell them you are interested in ED.

My son received invites to home games at DI-AA’s - one school where he attended the camp, and another where he did not. These invitations are for game tix only. I believe they are looking to measure the level of interest of some of the many recruits on their radar.
