How can one judge when enough in enough? I’m talking about things in general. For example how does one know when taking many AP classes really is too much? Or for example when something is too hard?

Depends entirely on the person. Some students may take all AP classes and still be able to handle basketball on the side, opposed to a hardworking student only able to handle one AP class. Comprehend?

I would say enough is enough when you start crying at 3 in the morning because you can’t figure out the lewis dot structure for CO2 for an AP Chem assignment.

Not that that has ever happened.

There’s never enough, that’s the short, depressing answer.

O=C=O

IN all seriousness, if you’re completely lost on your first few tests, and you worked until 4 AM every night, you know that you’re stretching it.

enough is enough when the goin’ gets tough

i don’t really know if that makes sense but it rhymes!

Enough is Enough when you study relentlessly (5+ hrs a day) for several weeks for your first AP [insert here] test yet end up getting a D on the exam. Oh yea… Welcome to college!

I was wondering the same thing. Not just with AP tests, but in general. I.e., with XC running, it gets pretty painful, but not so painful that you feel like your about to collapse in agony–just painful enough for you to question the benefits of XC running. When do you stop? Or, taking care of a dog–it pukes on the floor and you’re forced to clean it up. It’s gross and you hate it. Your adult brother will eagerly take the dog into his home, but you aren’t sure–do you give the dog to your brother?

But how tough does the goin’ need to get?

XC is a good example! My philosophy with XC (and with schoolwork in general, actually) is, “Just keep running, because in twenty/fifteen/ten/etc. minutes, it will all be over, and you can collapse!” I think the same thing when I’m pulling all-nighters… I just have to keep working, and the next night, I can go to sleep at ten (assuming that all the teachers who piled on huge assignments will pity their students and give us less homework the next night… haha).

It really depends how much pressure you put on your self. If you are a perfectionist then I would go with not taking a lot of hard classes or doing anything overly stressful. If you are a person who handles stress well then work until you feel like you can’t do something anymore. Most of the time the only thing that limits us is actually ourselves.
