<p>I wouldn’t necessarily say my essay rocks because I’m very picky about myself, but a lot of people have read it and said its really well written, “fantastic”, good… blah blah. It really is a consensus of other people’s opinions of your essays that should determine how you think the quality of your essay is</p>

The only reason why I thought mine was kickin’ was because everyone that read it buttered it up, which made me think …Ok… this is good 
lol. And I do believe that most, if not all, were being sincere.</p>
<p>I also had gone through officially 12 or 13 drafts, which were done over the course of a month…So I’d like to think that I distilled perfection.</p>

<p>Remember that most people cannot recognize good grammar when they see it. Do not think that your essay “rocks” just because your neighbor’s cousin says it does. Torture your English teachers and bug your friends to death comparing your own and their essays written on similar topics.</p>
<p>Yeah but grammar is not the only thing that makes an essay good. Adcoms are not English teachers; I think ordinary people can still help you out by telling you the overall impression the essay gives.</p>
